At the end of the year, the bird list for Ladywalk stood at 208 species, of which 138 were recorded in 2003. These figures inlcude two new birds, Honey Buzzard (in May) and Goshawk (October), subject to their acceptance by the county recorder.

June

Heavy rain, in the last week of June, flooded the whole reserve leaving the pools at winter levels with no mud or marginal edge. Unfortunately several nests of Little Grebe, Sand Martin, Kingfisher, Mute Swan, Little Ringed Plover and Redshank were lost. No lasting damage was done to the reserve and hopefully the water level will drop quickly with warm weather.

Ladywalk Nature Reserve lies on the site of the old Hams Hall power station, situated in the valley of the River Tame, in the borough of North Warwickshire, England, some ten miles from Birmingham city centre, at grid reference SP212917 *.
