West Midland Bird Club

Birding Events, in the West Midland Region, in April 2010

Anyone is welcome at the Club's indoor meetings. There is small charge for admission, with a discount for members of the Club. Members are also welcome to participate in the field trip activities of any branch.

This page also lists events not organised by the Club. Many links are to other organisations' websites (e.g. local RSPB groups) and the Club accepts no responsibility for their content. Travel by own transport.
We will search for interesting local resident species, and lingering wintering species, as well as the first summer migrants and rarities that may be present.
Cost £60 per person per night for half board (no deposit). Book early for this very popular weekend meeting.

As ever we expect Black-necked Grebe and first summer migrants at Woolston! At the Moore Nature Reserve, we anticipate warblers and woodland birds including Lesser Spotted Woodpecker — with any luck!

WMBC Kidderminster Branch field trip Rutland Water Nature Reserve * (SO774792 *) A full days visit. At Rutland there is a wide mixture of habitats on a 500-acre sites increasing the possibility of sightings of a good number of species, including newly arrived migrants as well as the Rutland Ospreys. We will meet at the Anglian Birdwatching Centre car park, Egleton Reserve, at 10:00am and we expect to be back in Kidderminster about 5:00pm. Take warm and waterproof clothing plus food and drink. There will be a charge for a permit to the reserve. Journey time from Kidderminster is about 2 hours 15 minutes.
