Mike Wilkes: Birds of Sweden, Finland and Hungary Mike returns with new photographs from European countries which have not featured in previous talks that he has given to us.<\td>
Saturday 3 9:30am–12:30pm	WMBC Work Party	Belvide Reservoir Nature Reserve, near Brewood, Staffordshire (SJ870099 ).	Habitat improvement, including scrub removal and coppicing. Meet in the car park; tools and gloves will be provided. All help will be very welcome.
Saturday 3 7:30– 22:00pm	Wild Night Out	Crescent Theatre, Sheepcote Street , Birmingham, (SP057867 ).	An intimate view of the wildlife that lives in the city, fields and oceans through stunning photographs, enthralling films and very personal Tales. Presented by the RSPB's 'Birds Near You' project. Admission £8.50
Sunday 4 8am–7pm (approx.)	WMBC Birmingham Branch field trip	Potteric Carr Nature Reserve , South Yorkshire (SE599003 )	A new venture to a recently developed reserve. It offers a mix of woodland, pools, reedbed and scrub with a wide range of birds including wildfowl, waders and possible Bittern. Cost £15.00
Wednesday 7 1.10pm	Biblical and Mythological Birds	The Barber Institute, University of Birmingham, Edgbaston, Birmingham B15 2TS. (SP050835 )	A talk by Richard Verdi, in conjunction with the exhibition, 'The Parrot In Art'.
Friday 9 7:30–9:30pm	WMBC Stafford Branch indoor meeting	The Centre for The Blind, North Walls, Stafford ST16 3AD (SJ923233 ).	Steve Stansfield: Bardsey Island and its Wildlife Bardsey has a special place in the annals of the WMBC and who better to tell us of it than the island's current and longstanding warden? Steve's camera work plus his extensive and intimate knowledge of the island will certainly make for an entertaining and informative evening.
Sunday 11 10:00am–1pm	WMBC Solihull Branch field trip	Arrow Valley Country Park . (SP065678 )	An extensive parkland in Redditch which has breeding Kingfisher, a small heronry and a range of waterfowl and passerines. Approximate journey time from Solihull 20 minutes. Turn left off the A4023 Coventry Highway (Gorcott Hill — Redditch) into Battens Drive, then right into the main car park.

Graham Harrison: Changing Habitats and Birds of the West Midlands We welcome the Club's Chairman, who will show us how habitats in our local area have changed over the last few years, and the effects that this has had on our birds.
Wednesday 28 6:45–9:30pm	Parrots through Biologists’ Eyes: Intelligence to Conservation	The Barber Institute, University of Birmingham, Edgbaston, Birmingham B15 2TS. (SP050835 )	Why do parrots mimic man and other creatures? Are they really as clever as their behaviour suggests? And does their very popularity make them vulnerable? This evening, a collaboration with the University of Birmingham's Centre for Ornithology and the University of Sheffield's Parrot Group, is devoted to an examination of the parrot from a scientific point of view. Tickets are free, but must be pre-booked
