To maximise the advantages of being a member, we offer two subscription and reserve permit rates.
The first category, known as Inclusive membership, provides you with full membership of the Club and includes access to our reserves and other venues at Belvide, Blithfield, Gailey, Harborne and Ladywalk. This deal includes the membership card holder, and those in their family residing at the same address, and can be purchased for a single payment of £30.00 per annum.
The second category is designed for people who have no wish to visit any of our reserves and is known as Standard membership. This package provides full membership to the card holder and family as described above, but without access to reserves. This category can be purchased for a single payment of £20.00 per annum.
For those taking out standard membership, permits to visit our reserves can still be obtained, on an individual basis.
Membership in either category entitles the card holder (and their family as described above) to regular Bulletins, a copy of the Annual Report and reduced-price admittance to any of our indoor meetings. Members can also enjoy discounts generously offered by suppliers of relevant goods and services.
The success and future of the West Midland Bird Club depends upon your support. Please consider joining, and enjoy the benefits that membership offers you, while at the same time taking comfort in the knowledge that your support is directly benefiting the study of wild birds and the conservation of precious habitat that they depend upon.
If you would like to join us, please use the membership form, available as a Microsoft Word document (33 Kb), or a "Rich Text" file (27Kb), compatible with most other word processors; or as a PDF file (11 Kb), for which you will need a (free) PDF reader if you don't already have one. (If you are unable to download and print these forms, please contact our webmaster.)
If you prefer not to pay by standing order, please make cheques payable to "West Midland Bird Club".
Completed forms (and cheques) should be sent to our Membership Secretary. Please be sure to complete the 'Gift Aid ' section, if eligible, so that we can reclaim tax on your membership fee. Thank you.
Anybody joining the Club before 30 September in any year will pay the full annual subscription.
Anybody joining the Club after 30 September will pay the full annual subscription, but that memebership will remain valid until the end of the following year.
Despite mutiple requests and reminders, some members — especially those with standing orders — are still not paying current membership rates. We have reluctantly decided, therefore, that any member not paying the correct membership fee this year (2011) will be regarded as having resigned and will not be sent a membership card. The March Bulletin will be their last bulletin until balance of fee is paid.
